Before you start
togedapp is your family’s app for things around the house: the shopping list, what’s been paid for, and, if the home is set up for it, the lights and the garage.
- Relax: almost anything can be fixed. If you cross something off by mistake, tap it again right away and it comes back. And the garage asks you to confirm before it opens.
- Everything is always in the same place.
- If you get lost, tap “Home” at the bottom left, and you’re back at the start.
- Whatever you add, your family sees it on their phones right away.
The buttons at the bottom
At the very bottom, there’s a row of buttons. Each one opens a part of the app:
- HomeThe most important things today: the home, the list, and the money.
- DevicesThe lights, the plugs, the blinds, and the garage.
- EnergyThe electricity used at home and what the solar panels make.
- ListsThe shopping list and the other lists.
- ExpensesWhat’s been paid and who owes whom.
The shopping list
To see it
- Tap “Lists” at the bottom.
- Tap the list you want.
For example, “Shopping List.” It also shows up on “Home.”
To add something
- Tap “New Item.”
It’s at the end of the list.
- Type what you need.
For example, “Milk.”
- Tap “return,” at the bottom right of the keyboard.
That’s it: the whole family can see it.
To cross it off when you buy it
- Tap the circle on its left.
- It gets crossed out and, after a moment, goes away.
Turning the lights on and off
- Tap “Devices” at the bottom.
- Find the room.
Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom…
- Tap the circle with the light bulb.
The light turns on. Tap it again to turn it off.
If you tap the rest of the card, it opens up big. There, you can make the light brighter or dimmer by sliding your finger up or down.
Opening the garage or gate
So it doesn’t open by accident, you need to tap twice:
- Tap the door’s circle.
It’s on “Home,” under “Doors.”
- It turns orange and asks “Activate?”
- Tap it again to confirm.
Adding what you paid
- Tap “Expenses” at the bottom.
- Tap “+” at the top right.
- Type how much it cost.
- Tap the picture that fits best.
Groceries, electricity, the pharmacy…
- Tap “Save.”
In “Expenses,” you’ll also see if someone owes you money, if you owe, or if you’re all even.
Bigger text
togedapp uses your iPhone’s text size. If you make it bigger, everything looks bigger:
- Open “Settings.”
It’s the gray gear.
- Tap “Display & Brightness.”
- Tap “Text Size.”
- Move the dot to the right until you can read easily.
If something doesn’t work
- Tap “Home” to go back to the start.
- Close the app and open it again.
- Ask someone in your family.
Whoever created the household can see the same things you do and lend you a hand.
- Or write to us.
A real person will answer you, and there’s no rush.
If you’re helping an older person
A few ideas to make togedapp just right for them. Most of them are done by whoever created the household:
- Give them only what they’ll useWithout permission for Devices or Energy, those tabs don’t show up and the app is simpler.
- Their list, on HomeThe list card on Home always stays on the same list: it’ll be there as soon as they open the app.
- Let the list remind themAdd their usual store to the list: when they get there, they’ll see what’s needed on the Lock Screen.
- A widget on their Home Screen“Room” to turn on their lamp, or “Doors” for the garage, without having to look for anything.
- Make the text biggerIn their iPhone’s Settings. togedapp follows it, even at the largest sizes.
- An iPad on the wallIf phones aren’t their thing, Kiosk Mode turns an iPad into a fixed panel with the lights you choose.
- Print this guideAnd keep it handy, by the phone or in the kitchen.
