Terms of Use
The ground rules for using togedapp, written so they’re easy to understand.
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This is a translation of the Spanish original, provided for your convenience. If the two versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.
What these terms cover
These terms govern the use of the togedapp app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, its App Clip, and its widgets (together, “the app”), which Miguel Ángel Gondán Acevedo (“we” or “us”) provides. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.
App Store license
The app is downloaded from the App Store and licensed to you under Apple’s standard End User License Agreement. These terms supplement it. If there is any conflict regarding the app’s license, Apple’s agreement prevails. Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide you with support for it: we provide the support.
Your account
- To use the app, you need to sign in with Sign in with Apple. Each account is personal.
- If you’re under 14, you need your parent or legal guardian to create or authorize your account and accept these terms on your behalf.
- You’re responsible for what is done from your account and for keeping your device protected.
- You can delete your account from the app whenever you want. What is deleted and what is kept is explained in the privacy policy.
The household and its members
The app is organized into households. Whoever creates a household manages it: they approve who joins, decide what each member can see and use, and, if they want, connect it to their Home Assistant server. If that person leaves the household, management passes to the member who has been in it the longest.
- Only invite people you trust: members see the household’s lists, the names of the other members, and the expenses they’re involved in.
- Whoever connects Home Assistant or gives guests access decides which devices can be controlled from the app and is responsible for those decisions.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for illegal purposes or to harass, monitor, or harm other people;
- try to access data from households or accounts that aren’t yours, or get around the household’s permissions;
- abuse guest access, tags, or notifications, or overload our servers;
- copy, modify, or decompile the app, except to the extent the law expressly allows.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, notifying you when possible.
Third-party services
Some features depend on services we don’t control: your Home Assistant server and its integrations (and, if you use it, Cloudflare), and Apple services such as Sign in with Apple, notifications, WeatherKit, Apple Intelligence, and maps. How they work, their availability, and their terms are up to the companies responsible for them. togedapp isn’t affiliated with Home Assistant or Apple.
Your home, your responsibility
togedapp isn’t a security, alarm, or emergency system. The connection, your Home Assistant server, or a device can fail, and a notification may arrive late or not at all. Don’t rely on the app in situations where the safety of people or property is at stake. Before remotely activating a door, a garage, or any appliance, make sure it’s safe to do so.
Energy, expenses, and tips
- Energy data and costs are estimates for information only, calculated from what your installation measures and the tariff you set up. They don’t replace your bill.
- Tips (including those written with Apple Intelligence) are for guidance only. You decide whether or not to run the washing machine.
- Expenses are a bookkeeping tool. The app doesn’t move money and isn’t a payment service: you handle payments between members yourselves.
Your content
What you add to the app (lists, expenses, room names…) is still yours. You only give us permission to store it, sync it, and show it to the members of your household according to their permissions, which is what’s needed to provide the service.
Intellectual property
The app, its name, its icon, its design, and its code belong to Miguel Ángel Gondán Acevedo or their licensors. These terms don’t grant you any rights over them beyond using the app.
Price
The app’s pricing terms, if any, are those shown on the App Store at any given time. Any purchase is handled and charged through Apple, under its terms and its refund policy.
Changes to the app and to these terms
The app evolves: we may add, change, or remove features. If a change to these terms is significant, we’ll let you know with reasonable notice. If we decided to shut down the service, we would announce it far enough in advance for you to look at your data first.
Liability
We do our best to make sure the app works well and is available, but we can’t guarantee that it will be free of errors or interruptions. To the extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for indirect damages or for damages caused by third-party services, by your installation, or by use contrary to these terms. Nothing above limits the rights that consumer protection law grants you or our liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you’re a consumer, you can go to the courts where you live. Before it comes to that, write to us: almost anything can be sorted out by talking.
